I’ve moved twice in the past 2 months and between down payments and need to hire full moving services both times due my disability and being sacked with the bills left unpaid by my transphobic ex roommate who trashed the apartment and left her shit behind, I’ve been completely tapped out. And to top it all off I have to move again on New Years but thankfully it’ll be okay by then because I’ve finally gotten a job!
It’s a great position with all the accommodations I could need and good pay and I’m so thankful but unfortunately my start date was pushed back to this Monday the 24th even though I was sent and agreed to my initial offer letter back in late September
My secondary job i’d been working is having another deadline shift as well and I won’t be paid at the end of the month like I initially had planned which was what was going to cover my rent this month. The last backup I had to ride on was my security deposit from my second to last apartment but because landlords are bastards and my racist negligent one was no exception, I won’t be receiving it in time either even though I should’ve gotten it at the beginning of this month.
This job will really be the turning point for me, I have secure housing and means to cover my expenses/food costs for the next two months and once I start I’ll be making enough to be able to save up to move again with much more ease than the last two times. I’m so close to finally being stable again. Please help.

Today, Caitlin Doughty of the Ask a Mortician YouTube channel posted a video discussing the fact that her recent video, a long form documentary style video on the 1915 disaster of the SS Eastland in Chicago, the story of which has largely been forgotten, was given a community guidelines violation. It did not violate the guidelines YouTube has claimed it did, or any guidelines. But the video was essentially shadow banned. Caitlin is, of course, a mortician, and also a death-postive advocate and educator. Her entire channel is about education and honest discussion of death. The SS Eastland video was the product of months of work by her and her team in collaboration with historians and relatives of victims of the Eastland. An educational documentary that had the sole purpose bringing light to a forgotten tragedy and remembering the victims has been hidden away from all but those who know right where to look for it. The video is below, please watch it and share so this story isn’t forgotten.

I bought that exact same toaster for my wife. I was thinking it would last a year, maybe two, and then we could get a "real" toaster (for the record, I don't care that it's a Hello Kitty toaster, I just hate that it leaves a big untoasted spot on one side of the bread). Hello kitty apparently doesn’t believe in planned obsolescence as my hello kitty flip phone is still perfectly functional and never even needs charging (baffling. possibly because i never really use it) and everyone i know who had a hello kitty radio or CRT TV growing up hasn’t gotten rid of them or sold them for a good price because they refuse to stop working or even show any signs of wear. the devil works hard but hello kitty works harder
This is my uncle Francis, he's the last elder in my family and we just got news this morning that he's not going to make it after they sent his medical escort home.
Right now he is dying alone without family in a hospital where no one can communicate with him since he doesn't speak english. We are Dene from the Dehcho and my uncle is a residential school survivor.
